About XBI
Xuyue BioFunction Institute (XBI): Pioneering the Frontier of imOmics
Introduction
The Xuyue BioFunction Institute (XBI) stands as a premier, independent research institution dedicated to advancing the frontiers of life sciences through the lens of biophysics. Moving beyond traditional genomics and proteomics, our mission is centered on the pioneering field of imOmics (Ion & Molecule Omics), a discipline we champion to decode the dynamic, real-time flux of ions and molecules that constitute the fundamental language of cellular life. Our research provides the critical, functional link between an organism's genetic blueprint and its phenotypic expression.
Core Research Focus: imOmics & the Global imOmics Project (GiP)
The Institute's scientific philosophy is built upon the understanding that the activities of ions and molecules—such as H⁺, Ca²⁺, K⁺, Na⁺, Cl⁻, O₂, and H₂O₂—are the primary drivers of biological function, from cellular signaling and nutrient uptake to stress response and growth regulation.
-
imOmics (Ion & Molecule Omics): This is our core analytical framework. Utilizing cutting-edge, non-invasive micro-testing technologies, primarily our self-developed NMT (Non-invasive Micro-test Technology), we directly measure the real-time movement of these ions and molecules in living tissues. Unlike static "omics" that provide a snapshot of potential, imOmics reveals the actual, functional activity within a live biological system, offering unparalleled insights into physiological and pathological processes.
-
The Global imOmics Project (GiP): To catalyze a global paradigm shift in life sciences, our Institute conceived and launched the Global imOmics Project (GiP). This ambitious, international collaborative initiative aims to build a comprehensive "functional map" of life by applying NMT/imOmics technology across diverse species—from plants and animals to microorganisms. The GiP serves as an open platform for scientists worldwide to share data, standardize methodologies, and collaborate on grand-challenge questions in agriculture, environmental science, medicine, and drug discovery.
